My Story



My struggle with self esteem and weight began in childhood and followed me well into adulthood.
While I was never obese, I was overweight and never fully comfortable with my appearance.
I hid in baggy clothes, wasn't able to shop in stores geared to teens and was always assessing a room to see if I was the heaviest girl there. I usually was.
I was 21 before I wore a two-piece bathing suit. 



Roughly five years ago, I made a conscious effort to make a change. I began working with a personal trainer who quickly became not only a mentor, but a friend. She taught me to challenge myself and gave me the tools I needed to succeed.

It's that same friend who introduced me to Advocare. Knowing diet alone wasn't enough to maintain my weight loss milestones and achieve new ones, I signed up to try the 24-Day Challenge.

Whole, nutritious foods, accompanied with herbal supplements, made the program easy to follow. 24 Days later, I was rewarded with a noticeable change to my waistline. I was sold on the benefits of a healthier diet and supplementation.


Let's face it, no diet is 100% perfect. Adding supplements allows me to fill in what my otherwise healthy(ish) diet leaves out.
 
Today I focus on a balance of fitness and fun or as I consider it, I'm pretty fit. I'm not a total gym rat and clean eater, forsaking all sugar. I'm just pretty fit.

I'll never miss out on quality time with good friends to get in an extra 30 minutes of cardio, but I do schedule time each week for the gym.  I make choices based on a give and take mind set. If I have this glass of wine, what can I give up tomorrow to balance it out?


It's taken me years to get where I am now and I'm just getting started! I'm a newly certified personal trainer looking to help people achieve the same level of success I have. It's a great feeling and I can't wait to share it with as many people as possible.
